How does Landfill work?
The Landfill Site is a location which has been built and prepared for the purpose of disposing waste. Waste is transported in trucks to the landfill site, where it is dumped and buried under layers of soil to decompose. Some items can take up to 1000 years to decompose.
What WILL NOT be accepted at The Landfill Site:
- Green Waste
- Food Scraps
- Hot Ashes
- Ink Cartridges
- Medical Waste & Sharps
- Chemicals, Paints & Oils
- Fire Extinguishers
- Household & Car Batteries
- E-waste including but not limited to Mobile Phones & Devices
- Gas Bottles/ Canisters
- Asbestos

How to divert my waste from Landfill?
- Charity: Donate unwanted goods to your local Charity Shop or The Revolve Centre.
- Ask a Waste Expert: Send in any waste, recycling and/or reuse questions to our Ask a Waste Expert Form and a waste expert will be in contact within 2 working days.
- Local Initiatives: Keep yourself familiar with local reuse and/or recycling initiatives around you.
